Responsibilities range from staffing the ATTRA
agricultural information line, reviewing and
editing case responses, leading the NCAT
Livestock Team, researching and answering farmer
questions about sheep, goats, multi-species
grazing, and occasionally other topics. Other
duties include participating in SARE projects
and in writing publications needed for ATTRA
work, giving presentations for workshops and
conferences, and assisting in other duties for
NCAT.

Self-Employed
Assisted in daily chores and management of small
farm flock of crossbred ewes, 1986-1996
(Kansas). Moved to Arkansas in 1996 and now help
produce and market products of sheep (including
Gulf Coast sheep, a parasite-resistant breed),
dairy goats, pigs and chickens. On-farm
experience with using sericea lespedeza, browse,
pasture management, selection of
parasite-resistant breeding stock, and use of
the FAMACHA™ system to manage internal parasite
problems in sheep and goats.
